Do we need to decide what the path is? what is a path? How do we normally decide what we want to do in this life? How can we figure it out directly after graduation? Many people now realize that it’s completely acceptable to begin earning at any stage of life. Additionally, we should embrace the fact that it’s not necessary to have everything figured out from the start.

My Graduation and Initial Goals

When I completed my graduation, my main goal was to get a job in Hyderabad and pursue what I wanted to do. I thought I had everything figured out, but I began to question if I truly knew what I wanted to do. Was my plan enough to live the life I desired? What kind of life did I want in the first place? I had no idea.

Observing Others

From childhood, I saw my cousins complete their education, get jobs, and work hard, treating it as their whole life. However, I never felt that way. I always believed that life was more than just a job. When my friends and college seniors got jobs, I thought that was the solution and the key to life. I followed suit, but soon realized it wasn’t fulfilling.

The Reality of Getting a Job

Movies often show clear endings, whether happy or sad, followed by new beginnings. I thought getting a job was the end of one phase and the start of a new one. I believed I would have weekends free to do what I wanted. There was always something I wanted to do on my own.

The Weekend Dilemma

However, when weekends came, I couldn’t think of anything to do. Weekends and weekdays passed by without me starting anything. This lack of action frustrated me and affected my job performance.

Realizing My Mistake

I always wanted to do something meaningful, but I made the mistake of thinking that “something” would come to me on its own. It never did. As a result, I became lazier and lost interest in everything because life wasn’t happening the way I wanted. But why should life follow our plans when we don’t even know what’s best for us? How can we know what works if we haven’t faced challenges?

Finding Clarity

After brainstorming ideas, I considered opening a customized gift shop. However, my research showed that many others were already doing it, so I stopped. But what if I just opened a shop in my own style? It doesn’t have to be great; if it satisfies me, that’s enough.

Writing for Satisfaction

Three years later, I’m here writing this article, feeling that this might be my path. Even though I haven’t figured out what I want to do in the next 2, 5, or 10 years, writing this article gives me more satisfaction than shopping, playing games, or using social media ever did. Maybe this is what people mean by going with the flow.

It’s okay, we don’t need to figure out everything and even if we do, we will not be satisfied. That’s the human nature we move on whether we do it consciously or not. Let life happen, let it unfold how you never thought it would and when you become receptive, then you will know that it is just magic and you are here just to experience it.
